David Burton, graduate student in Political
Science, won the award of Outstanding Delegate on the International Court of
Justice at the American Model United Nations Conference in Chicago.
Burton served as a Justice representing Peru and composed the majority
decision in the case of Mexico v. the United States. The Security
Council and the General Assembly approved resolutions submitted by UCO
students, which is significant because only a few resolutions were passed by
each of those bodies. |

Former UCO political science student
Nathan Coy enjoys a brief respite along a South Pacific waterfall during his
most recent military assignment at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam.
Before returning again to the deserts of Iraq, he is hoping to enjoy some
much needed leave in Australia. While serving, Nathan has been able to
continue his education by completing his Associate's degree in Air
Transportation from the Community College of the Air Force and expects to
complete his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of
Maryland shortly. |
