Review for Midterm Examination

The midterm examination will be comprised of several multiple choice questions and a few essay questions or short answer questions in which you will have some choice to respond.  The test will cover Chapters 1 through 8 in Dubrin's Leadership, class videos (Joseph Campbell, Howard Gardner, The Abilene Paradox), and your class lecture notes.  You do not need to bring a Scantron sheet.  Read your textbooks, review your class notes, and then try to answer the following questions to see how well you have mastered the material.

Describe and discuss the role and significance of mythology to the practice of leadership.

According to Howard Gardner, in what ways are great leaders different than more ordinary people?

What is 360 Degree Feedback?

Know and understand ethical theory as applied to leadership.

What is total quality management?  What are some of its current incarnations?  What role do leaders play in TQM?

Who were the early theorists and proponents of TQM?

What is power?  What are the types and sources of leadership power?
