STUDENT PAPER AWARDS
Once again the Oklahoma Political Science Association is recognizing outstanding
student achievement with “Best Student Paper” awards. This year, the winners
will receive both a cash prize and as well as a
certificate recognizing their success. The winners will be acknowledged at the
Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 8 at the Oklahoma History Center. The
winning papers will be displayed in poster form at the OPSA conference in the
State Capitol.
To be eligible for the awards, all material must be submitted to the Awards
Committee by October 15, 2007. In addition, the paper must be presented
in poster form at the OPSA meeting November 8-9. Please send submissions

Best Undergraduate Research Paper
- all schools eligible
A $300 cash prize will be awarded for the best undergraduate
student research paper of 2007. To be considered for the award a paper must be
presented at the 2007 OPSA conference, OR submitted by a political science
department as the best undergraduate paper in that department.
Award Criteria: A paper written by an undergraduate student at an
Oklahoma college or university within one year of the annual meeting of the
Oklahoma Political Science Association and which has won a best paper award from
the student’s political science department. Where the department has no such
award the department may nominate one paper from among its undergraduate papers.
Nomination Materials Required:
1. Nomination letter indicating circumstances under which the paper was written
(sr thesis, course paper)
2. Nameof the supervising instructor
3. The student paper.

Best graduate Research Paper

A $500 cash prize will be awarded for the best graduate student
research paper of 2007. To be considered for the award a paper must be
presented at the 2007 OPSA conference, OR submitted by a political science
department as the best graduate paper in that department.
Award Criteria: A paper written by a graduate student at an
Oklahoma college or university within one year of the annual meeting of the
Oklahoma Political Science Association and which has won a best paper award from
the student’s political science department. Where the department has no such
award the department may nominate one paper from among its graduate papers.
Nomination Materials Required:
