Degree Requirements:
We offer six
majors and three minors:

42-44credit
hours.
- Major requirement courses -- 39-51 hours (0-8 hours of Elementary-may
test out or CLEP; 0-4 hours of Elementary additional language-may
test out or CLEP; 6 hours of Intermediate, and 33 hours of upper-division coursework) in:
French
German
Spanish

You may take a minor in one of the following languages:

Foreign Language minor must be in courses at the 3000 or 4000 level.
Enhance your credentials
Students with some previously acquired knowledge of a language are strongly encouraged
to save themselves 8 hours of tuition and two semesters of time by moving ahead to the
Intermediate level and investigating a double-major. (Voice of personnel officer at
major corporation: "She must be really smart if she majored in
Accounting and French/German/Spanish").
