Welcome to the College of
Liberal Arts Spring 2008
Debate Team Has Its Strongest Finish In Decades
The Broncho debate team ended the year on an extremely high note. The squad managed to clear teams at all three of the national tournaments they attended. This is a feat the team has not managed since 1987.
At the final national tournament, The National Debate Tournament (NDT), hosted by California State University at Fullerton, the Bronchos were represented by the team of junior Andy Casey and freshman Jack Ewing. The team advanced to the elimination rounds of the NDT for the first time since 1987. The team was defeated by the eventual national champions from Wake Forest University.

New Plains Review Unveils New Issue
The New Plains Review is a literary journal published by the UCO English Department and created and edited by students. The
journal publishes original essays, poetry, fiction, and
other creative and scholarly work.
At the beginning of each semester, the student staff and the New Plains' advisor, Dr. Gladys Lewis, discuss the focus for that semester's journal, determine a title for the particular
issue and begin the process of finding and creating the content for the issue. The spring edition of New Plains Review is titled "Pathways to Leadership" and features the work of UCO students, faculty and staff.
