Ben Smith

Ben is a first-year graduate student in the 20th- and 21st-Century Studies program, Film Studies emphasis, in the English department at UCO. He has a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Film Studies from the University of Oklahoma. His interests and writings include adaptation theory, comics and culture, and the cultural history of cinema and literature. Future plans include a Ph.D. in Cultural Materialism or Film Studies, screenwriting, and teaching.

After a marathon viewing of Run Lola Run, Memento, and Mullholland Drive, Ben stopped believing in time. People have often remarked that his genius is matched only by his aversion to inspirational posters. His greatest fear is that the Matrix is real and therefore The Office is actually a documentary. In his spare time, he spends far too much money on vintage Nintendo games, which he calls “pixelated study time.” Once, Ben proved that it is the end of the world as we know it. And he feels fine.

OR . . . Ben likes nachos.
