Using WebCT Discussion Board!

This is a neat tool to discussion readings or react to the instructor's or other student's ideas.

Here is how to  post reactions in WebCT.


1. Go to uconnect.uco.edu and log in.

If you cannot access UCONNECT, call IT at  974-2255!  You may be required to go to their office to set up your account. Call and find out.  If you have problems during the semester at this site, call this number.


2.  Look at the Menu. Click the "MY COURSES" Menu.  You should see a list of your classes.  click the name of your class, it will go to WebCT as a pop up window. 


3.  You are now in WebCT.   I would suggested you maximize the screen.

Click "Communication Tools," and then click "Discussions."


4.  Posting Discussion Reaction. Your instructor will have posted a prompt. Click the prompt.

5.   A pop up window will appear. Type in a reaction.  You may want to first compose your reaction in Word. If so, then copy and paste into the message section and click "post."  If you don't use Word, then just type directly into the message section. The instructor may have a minimum word count. Find out.  You may lose points for being late. Find out.

6. That is it!  Then when other students or the instructor visits the site, they can reply to the message.  You can first preview the message too.

This should be an effective way to enjoy interacting with others in the class.
