Submission Information
Want to See Your Name in Print?
New Plains Review, the literary journal of the University of Central Oklahoma, solicits original, unpublished work in prose, poetry, drama, fiction, research, art, and photography by students and faculty.
Submissions must be in MLA or APA style, and no more than 25 pages in length, typed, double-spaced, and in 12-point font. The title of the manuscript should appear on every page, but the author's name should not appear anywhere to insure blind submission and authentic jurying. Submissions should include a completed submission form, a hard copy of the work, and an electronic copy of the work on disk or CD.
Manuscripts should be placed on disk in Microsoft Word format; art and photography should be placed on disk as a tif file, 300 dpi, approximately 6X8 inches (or within that dimension); save as a color image, although budget restrictions may require conversion to black and white as necessary.
Submissions can be brought to the journal office in LAR 103E or left in the marked credenza drawer just outside the office. Submissions are due at the end of the fall semester for the spring issue and at the end of the spring semester for the following fall issue, unless advertised otherwise.
Manuscripts will be reviewed by editorial groups, and when they are accepted for publication, authors will be advised by e-mail. Submissions not in conformity with stated guidelines will not be considered for publication. Manuscripts and disks will not be returned but may be claimed at the New Plains Review office until the end of the semester following the submission deadline.
Read the New Plains Review Stylesheet before you send your submission.
A completed Submission Form must accompany your submission.
