Dr. Linda Steele has earned the following degrees: B.A. in English Education from the University of Central Oklahoma (1988); M.A. in English from the University of Central Oklahoma (1990); and Ph.D. in English from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (1996).

Her major emphasis is on American Literature before 1900, and her other areas of specialization include Film Studies and Linguistics.
