Members of the AAUP-UCO Executive Committee recently met with President Roger Webb and Provost William Radke and discussed several issues, including increased funding for conferences, adjusting the tri-annual reviews from three to five years, free faculty access to UCO’s Wellness Center, new faculty moving expenses, the need for more full-time faculty and adjunct faculty issues.

The 2007 AAUP-UCO annual online survey of administrators asked general approval ranking questions about administrators and three questions related to salaries, tenure, and post-tenure review. As of May 1, 2007, 108 faculty members had responded. The Executive Committee of AAUP-UCO thanks those faculty members who participated. You can view the results here.

Have you been following the Academic Bill of Rights movement, which is dedicated to abolishing free speech in the college classroom? We need a strong, united voice to counter those people and groups in our culture who want to abolish the free expression of university educators inside and outside the classroom. Please join the national AAUP. In addition, you can also become a Friend of AAUP-UCO. You can contact an AAUP Executive Committee member in your college to obtain a form, or simply send a $10 check made out to AAUP-UCO to Treasurer Seigfried Heit, Liberal Arts, Box 186.
