Become a UCO Debater


The UCO Debate Team is currently looking for highly qualified, high school seniors to apply to become part of our team.

There are also opportunities for current UCO students with and without debate experience to contribute to the team. We offer quality coaching, significant scholarships, low educational and living expenses and a program that is strongly supported by the university.

Our team philosophy encourages debaters to balance family and friends, advancement towards a degree, and physical and mental health with their debate responsibilities.

We have an active travel schedule and attend regional and national tournaments. Our squad is small compared to some of the other college debate teams across the country, but this is a benefit to younger debaters who want to be impact debaters beginning their freshman year. We offer full and partial scholarships to qualified debaters based on need and merit. If you would like to be considered for a UCO Debate scholarship, please complete the Scholarship Application.
