Dr. Steward joined the UCO faculty in 1998. He taught a variety of classes in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice,
including deviance, religion, corrections, death/dying, and research methodology. His speciality areas include social
movement/collective behavior, sociology of religion, research methodology, and the sociology of death and dying. Dr.
Steward was appointed Assistant Dean in July 2004 and Interim Associate Dean in July 2005. In September 2005, he was approved
as the Associate Dean of the college. His primary duties include assessment and program evaluation, curriculum issues, and
schedule build.
